Dashing Dash dashed into our lives and hearts.
On pick-up day, he was the calmest and quietest hound at the kennel. When I walked in, some of the greyhounds went crazy. Dash stood up, what a tall, beautiful, golden boy he is! He gazed at me with the biggest brown eyes I've ever seen. His ears were straight up and his tail was wagging. It's as if he was saying, "take me, take me!" I could see that he had 'wagged' off his happy tail bandage. I put my fingers through the cage wire and he gave my fingers some sweet, gentle kisses. He was patient while I got the paper work, collar, and leash.
Dash was ready to go but was not rambuctous or overly excited. He is a big, strong boy but so gentle on lead. A greyt walker! Very sensitive and attentive to his person.
He rides well in a car, even a small car like mine. He wasn't too sure at first. He looked at me as if to say, "are you sure I can fit back there?" When I said okay, he stepped right in the car, looked around, laid down on the back seat, and stayed there. I kept looking back to check on him because he was so still and quiet, but he was fine.
As soon as we got home we started on a long walk, joining Poppy and J (our greys) who were with Steve. After everyone was tuckered out and all the sniffing was over, we went home, and everybody crashed. Dash likes his roomy xpen, fluffy bed, and squeeky toys.
All is good and everyone settled into a quiet and relaxing day.
